2012 interdisciplinary craft as art project

I had nothing to do with advising this one, but I participated in it as an artist. Students Mary Alyson Atkins, Andja Budincich, and Emily Manning with a King Creativity Grant sent out a call for faculty, students and staff to submit artistic works that are in a crafting medium, which was interdisciplinary in content. I was getting into crochet at the time and wanted a challenge. I had seen work on the internet of dissected frog and that, along with seeing the many dead pigeons my cat was eating in the backyard, compelled me to take on the challenge of crocheting a dissected pigeon. I learned a lot about crochet techniques as well as bird anatomy along the way.
